Reportedly, the newly-discovered coronavirus has taken the life of another person in China. According to Chinese health officials, it is a second death that has taken place after around a week. The new strain has infected many people, also has placed remaining Asia on alert. On Wednesday, Xiong, a sixty-nine-year-old man, has died due to the ongoing pneumonia epidemic. Local health officials have noted that the virus has affected the central city of Wuhan in Hebei province. Before this, a sixty-one-year-old man has died due to the mysterious virus in the same region on 9th January. Reportedly, the elderly had difficulty in breathing due to severe pneumonia.
According to Chinese researchers, the virus is a new strain of coronavirus. It shares the family tree of fatal viruses, including SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome). Well, the virus may sometimes lead to coughing and fever. On the other hand, in some cases, it may result in fatal health conditions like kidney failure or death. But researchers say the strain of coronavirus does not seem as dangerous as SARS or MERS. Before over a decade, in 2002 and 2003, both coronaviruses had infected and killed more than 8,000 people in an epidemic. At the time, the strains spread across Asia.
According to health officials, the recently-died older adult fell sick on 31st December. After that, he was hospitalized at the facility of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital. But the condition went even worse after five days. Reports reveal that he had an exceptional renal function. Even more, inflammation of heart muscles took place along with severe damage to various organs of the body. Currently, health officials have discovered over 40 new cases of the latest coronavirus in Wuhan. Reportedly, five people out of all patients are in critical condition. Meanwhile, 12 have received a discharge from the hospital after medication. Local officials have noted that the health of other patients is stable and under the administration.
